Traci Wright-Martin is originally from Newberg, Oregon and has lived in the Ardmore area for about 13 years. She graduated in 2005 from Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Studio Art and a minor in Psychology, with an emphasis in Art Therapy. During her college years, she served as an art instructor and tutor for student workshops in both private and public school settings. Following graduation, Martin worked for the Charles B. Goddard Center for the Visual and Performing Arts in Ardmore as Assistant Director and Educational Coordinator for two years. She has continued involvement with art education as a private tutor for local students. Martin has received numerous awards and scholarships for her artwork and has participated and placed in many regional art exhibits and juried shows including the Great Plains Juried Exhibit, Goddard Center Annual Juried Exhibit, Cross Timbers Small Works show, Artplace's Red Hot Art, and many more. Her first major solo exhibit "A Meditation On/Through Colour" was shown in the Oklahoma State Capitol North Gallery in 2009. Martin's "Meditation" was also featured in a 2-Woman Show at Southeastern Oklahoma State University with Shelley Tate Garner. In January 2008, Martin was invited to serve as a panelist for the Oklahoma Arts Council Touring Artist Roster. She has also served OAC on the panel as a reader for the Community Arts Programming Major Grant Support for 2 consecutive years. In December 2007, Martin co-founded Studio 107 with Susan Pfau Yeager. She and Susan currently manage the Studio 107 gallery, while Martin also works as a professional photographer and artist. Her work is featured in private and public collections both regionally and throughout the United States.
