This is an introductory workshop in glass fusing. We will first discuss the technical aspects of fusing including properties of glass, tools and equipment, kilns, firing schedules and safety. You will then learn to cut, grind, layer and fuse glass. During the class, you will design two pendants and one pair of earrings. Due to the length of time required for firing and cooling, we will do all of the glass work at the beginning of class, to be fired during class and ready by the end of the day. In this workshop, you will assemble an altered image charm, photo memory charm, or stained glass. This will include learning to foil, solder, and adding jump rings, and other decorations.
$140 per student, materials and tools provided, glass and firing costs included
